Career Change: Do You Make Your Own Luck ?

Career Change: Do You Make Your Own Luck ?

Make Your own Luck…..

How important is luck in enhancing your career? In my opinion very important! I am an example of how luck greatly contributed to my career.

The definition of luck can be stated as, a force that seems to operate for good or ill in a person’s life, as in shaping circumstances or opportunities which are beyond our control. Is that really so? We often consider some people just lucky and others constantly unlucky.

Luck and the ability to generate luck may come from how a person performs or perceives themselves.

Research indicates that lucky people generate good fortune by ensuring positive behavior patterns, and therefore, positive outcomes occur. This includes creating and acting on chance opportunities; listening to their own intuition; creating positive expectations and having a positive attitude that creates a “lucky” environment. Being positive and having persistent optimism is truly beneficial. Making things happen is part of the process. Positive things will not happen if you do not act or are afraid to make decisions.

Find opportunities

Focus on your ability to identify new opportunities and take action when you find them. Be prepared to take risks and venture outside your comfort zone. Expand your horizons. Tap into the many avenues available on the internet. This includes but not limited to, online help communities like Meetup or LinkedIn where you can network and get advice.

Make it happen!

Should an opportunity become available, act quickly to evaluate and decide if it is worth pursuing? If it is, then act, do not procrastinate.

People who are thought of as “lucky” are skilled at creating, evaluating and acting upon chance opportunities.
